In this article, I put forward a second structural analysis of Luke  4:16-30. In this analysis, I think the main “theme” is the rejection by the people of Nazareth, not only of Jesus himself, but of the blessings which He offers them on the basis of Isaiah Ch. 61 – the passage that Jesus read at the start of His visit to the synagogue at Nazareth. Jesus is presented as One who keeps giving the people of Nazareth the opportunity to be blessed by Him.
