In this article, I attempt to build on the work of the previous articles in this series and present the first of two possible analyses of Luke 4:16-30 – the account of Jesus’ visit to his hometown of Nazareth. I also note some of the ways in which this narrative links to the account of Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness in Luke 4: 1-13.
