Jairus’ Daughter and the Woman with an Issue of Blood in Mark 5:21-43 – Part 1

This is the first part of what I hope will be a series of articles in which we explore the structure – and hopefully also come to understand a little of the meaning and significance – of Jesus’ two intercalated healings in Mark ch. 5: the raising of Jairus’ daughter and the healing of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:21-43.

In this first article, I attempt to introduce this interesting but complex topic, and to look at the structure of the first few verses, Mark 5:21-24, in which Jairus comes to Jesus and begs Him to come and heal his dying daughter.

I hope you will find this series interesting and helpful, and I look forward to all comments and corrections!
